Mounted Metal Fish
This Mounted Metal Fish from our friends Gatski Metal is an amazing feat of recycling! This cool piece is made using basic hand tools to re-purpose recycled farm machinery that is outdated & too broken down for use. The qualities & characteristics of the metal depends on the model, year, and care of the machine. Although this ever-changing material is challenging for Gatski Metal, it results in beautifully unique works of metal art. We are happy to say that each piece is essentially, "One of a Kind."
The metal is sealed with a water-based enamel. This piece can be hung inside or out. Each head will have subtle variations. They are cut by hand and each piece of metal has slight color differences. Care: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. If outdoors, you can maintain a shiny metal look [entirely optional] by applying a clear metal enamel, available in a spray can at your local hardware store.
A trophy fish, for sure. This Fish is created entirely from recycled farm machinery. The metal used for the Fish is thick steel from weathered farm machinery. The colors are the original paints from the farm machines. The pattern is hand drawn on the metal with soapstone and cut with a hand held plasma cutter. The Fish is then hand hammered and arc welded into shape.
